Oxfam in Timor-Leste requested Bridging Peoples support in undertaking an organisational gender assessment of their staff’s perceptions, behaviours, work processes and overall office culture. The purpose in conducting this assessment was to gain a broad picture of the organisation’s strengths and weaknesses relating to gender, providing a foundation for them to improve their work on gender inclusion and to work with partners in being more sensitive in their program management and delivery.
The assessment took a broad approach, looking at many different issues that affect women staff members and shape the OTL office culture. The methodology was designed to deliberately go beyond a focus on formal policies and procedures, to considering the power dynamics at play.
The assessment was for internal purposes and is not available for publication.
