The Global Climate Change Alliance Program Timor-Leste is a partnership project that is co-implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P. (Camões, I. P.) and in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of Timor-Leste. The purpose of the project is to work with communities that are more vulnerable to the effects of climate change, to help them develop good natural resource management, and livelihood strategies in order to cope with their changing environment.

GIZ engaged Bridging Peoples to support their climate change adaptation team by providing a three-day training program on community mobilisation torural staff and government partners working directly with community groups. The training was tailored to the needs of the program, sharing practical tools and strategies that they could use to engage with farmers on climate change. Training included communication strategies to educate (often illiterate) farmers on farming methods, mobilisation strategies to form community groups, and outreach strategies to encourage greater participation of women, young people and people with disabilities in the work.

Project partners: GIZ and the Ministry for Agriculture & Fisheries (Government of Timor-Leste).
